On May 8, 2007, Mr. Fuljenz, a former teacher and now president of Universal Coin & Bullion was presented with the “Volunteer of the Year Service Award,” by Principal Roger Bemis during the Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School annual Awards Program. Then on May 17, 2007 both Mike and his wife Karen were presented with the Saint Thomas Aquinas Award in recognition of their outstanding support for the Catholic schools in the Diocese of Beaumont. The award is given to an individual who best exemplifies the ideals of Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Bishop Guillory’s poignant remark summarized their generosity “They have set a wonderful example in our Diocese of how to love thy neighbor. I know through their generosity they will inspire others.” The superintendent of schools, George Pressey, added; “They’ve literally touched every child in the Diocese somehow.”

Mike Fuljenz, is one of America's foremost rare coin experts and has always had an affinity for the academic community.
